Owner resources / Exchange rules

Can I rent an exchange reservation?

Exchange accommodations often come with rules that differ from directly owned reservations.

Guest use is not always rental use

A program may allow an owner to add a guest while still prohibiting the owner from accepting payment. Read the exchange terms, confirmation details, and current commercial-use policy before advertising.

Confirm the source of the reservation

Identify whether the stay came from deposited ownership, bonus inventory, a getaway, promotional inventory, or another exchange product. Restrictions can differ by inventory type.

Protect the membership

An unauthorized rental may risk cancellation, guest disruption, fees, account suspension, or loss of exchange privileges. If the rules are unclear, obtain guidance from the exchange provider before proceeding.

Independent guidance: Rules and outcomes vary by resort, club, exchange company, reservation type, and jurisdiction. Confirm current requirements before acting.
